The Alabama Department of Public Health (ADPH) processed a backlog of 306 positive PCR results from a facility on May 12, 2021. These will be classified as 306 confirmed COVID-19 cases reported on May 13, 2021 even though the tests were performed during September 24, 2020 through April 16, 2021.
2021-05-08: Recoveries & Backlog
ADPH adjusted their formula for Presumed Recoveries and updated the total to 509,800
Also, ADPH processed a backlog of 61 positive PCR results from a facility on May 7, 2021. These will be classified as 61 confirmed COVID-19 cases, with 43 cases in Jefferson County, reported on May 8, 2021 even though the tests were performed during January 25 through May 3, 2021.

Today's update includes data from yesterday, because ADPH did not update the numbers yesterday.
2021-04-20: Data Backlog
The Alabama Department of Public Health (ADPH) processed a backlog of 1110 COVID-19 cases from a facility on 04/19/21. These will be classified as 118 confirmed cases and 982 probable cases reported on 04/20/21 even though the tests were performed during October 23, 2020 to April 6, 2021. 1058 out of 1110 cases are residents of Mobile County.
2021-04-13: Data Backlog
The Alabama Department of Public Health (ADPH) processed a backlog of 1150 COVID-19 cases from two facilities on 04/12/21. These will be classified as 96 confirmed cases and 1054 probable cases reported on 04/13/21 even though the tests were performed during October 22, 2020 to April 7, 2021. 1138 out of 1150 cases are residents of Mobile County
2021-04-07: Safer Apart Order
Governor Kay Ivey on Wednesday issued her twenty-sixth supplemental emergency proclamation transitioning the state from an amended Safer at Home Order to a new Safer Apart Order, the third phase of COVID-19 pandemic health orders.
Masks will no longer be mandated statewide, but individuals are strongly encouraged to wear a mask or other facial covering when in public and in close contact with other people. This order goes into effect at 5 p.m. on Friday, April 9, 2021 and extends until 5 p.m. on Wednesday, May 5, 2021.

ADPH posted that they are having technical issues and that case counts will be low today and corrected in tomorrow's update.
2021-03-17: ADPH Backlog
The Alabama Department of Public Health (ADPH) processed a backlog of 201 cases on 03/17/21. These will be classified as confirmed and probable COVID-19 cases reported on 03/16/21 even though the tests were performed on during October 1, 2020 through March 8, 2021.
2021-03-15: ADPH Backlog
The Alabama Department of Public Health (ADPH) processed a backlog of 4007 cases, including confirmed and probable cases, on 03/14/21. This affects the number of reported cases today. Tests were performed during October 1, 2020 through January 1, 2021.

Governor Ivey Extends Safer at Home Order including a statewide mask requirement until Friday, April 9, 2021 at 5:00 p.m.
2021-03-03: Reporting Backlog
Per ADPH: The Alabama Department of Public Health (ADPH) processed a backlog of 2114 positive PCR results from a facility on 03/02/21. These will be classified as confirmed COVID-19 cases reported on 03/03/21 even though the tests were performed since May 2020.
2021-02-27: Vaccine Providers
Vaccine provider info from ADPH has been added to Vaccine Tracking and County Sections.
2021-02-23: Reporting Delay
Per MCHD: Today’s report shows an increase of 348 cases reported on February 22. This is related to a delay in reporting from an area Urgent Care, which was responsible for 313 of those cases.

ADPH has launched a new COVID 19 Vaccination Eligibility Check and Scheduling Portal.
